Anthropic launched two new tools for Claude, Docs and Slides, in beta. Ask Claude for a document or deck and you get an editable file with one shareable link — no more copying AI text into another app. Claude's regular chat and its Cowork tool are merging into a single interface Anthropic calls "one Claude," so these tools work in any conversation. Pro and Max plans get access first, over the next few weeks; Team and Free plans follow later.
What it means for you
You already have client briefs, proposals, and reports living inside your Claude chats. That same conversation can now turn straight into a shareable Doc or Slide deck, instead of you retyping it into Google Docs.
Why it matters
- No more copy-paste tax between apps. Docs and Slides build the file right inside the chat where you already gave Claude the brief. You skip lifting text into Google Docs or PowerPoint and rebuilding headings, bullets, and slide layouts by hand.
- One link replaces the file-sharing shuffle. Anthropic says anything you build in Docs or Slides lives at one shareable link you can open on your phone. A client can review a proposal the moment you finish it instead of waiting on an exported PDF.
- Revisions happen in place, not in a new thread. You can ask Claude to edit the document it just built, or edit it yourself. Collaborators — including Claude — can leave comments the way they would in Google Docs, and feedback stays inside that one file instead of turning into a stack of separate versions in your inbox.
- You're no longer locked into whichever AI your document software already picked for you. Google has spent this year building Gemini directly into Docs, Sheets, and Slides, so any file you start there already carries Google's AI by default. Claude's new tools give you a second place to build the same client-facing documents, on your own terms.
